ISACA Cochin chapter

Cochin chapter of ISACA was started as an association of some CISA aspirants in the year 1999. The association took formal shape when 5 out of 7 who appeared for CISA 2001 got certified. The chapter was formalized in 2001 itself and since then the chapter is functioning as a nodal point of ISACA activities in the state of Kerala. Our sincere efforts resulted in Cochin becoming a CISA examination center from the year 2002.
The chapter got formal recognition from ISACA Head Quarters in the year 2002. From the year 2002 ISACA Cochin Chapter conducts CISA Classes.

Activities

Monthly meetings

ISACA Cochin joins every month for a knowledge sharing session. Talks on topics relevant to IT Governance, IS Audit, IS Security and related topics are arranged on these days.

Some of the topics presented during these meetings are:

Aligning information technology with business strategy
Information Security
Business continuity planning
Enterprise Resource Planning Systems etc.

CISA Classes

Every year, ISACA Cochin conducts CISA coaching classes according to the plan given by ISACA. Classes are handled by experts from IS Audit, IT Management and System Administration fields who are CISA certified professionals. This year, classes are held every Sunday at NIPM Hall, Mather Squre, Opp. North Rly. Station, Ernakulam.

Benefits of attending the classes are:

IT Benchmarking initiatives

ISACA Cochin is initiating an IT benchmarking initiative to evaluate the organizations in Kerala on their practices on managing information technology. This initiative is aimed at identifying the best practices and procedures adopted by enterprises in the state in the field of IT governance. The benchmarking exercise is planned in five stages. Expression of interest, Audit, Evaluation of the companies based on the audit report, declaration of award. Feed back will given to the organisations about their performance.
