EVENTS The Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) conducted a seminar on Information Security and Risk Management on the 17th of February 2009, at Travancore Hall, Park Centre, Technopark in Trivandrum. “The last couple of years has seen exponential increase in the use of IT in the country, especially in the government sector”, said The IT Secretary of the Govt. of Kerala, Dr. Ajay Kumar IAS, while delivering the inaugural address. He was addressing a group of close to 250 Information Security professionals from IT and Banking sector. He further added that the an amount of US$ 10 billion has been set-aside for the e-governance project – in the recent years the Govt. of India has implemented e-governance in passport offices, post offices and various other functions. The Kerala government has already spent nearly 1000 crores on e-governance projects across the state..
